Hello
My name is Swanny Makin and I’d like to welcome you to Sunny Times extended day Preschool & Daycare! It is my goal to provide the best possible atmosphere of love and learning while your child is in my care. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on early Childhood development. I have taught in Kindergarten, Second and Fourth grades and worked with children with special needs as well, particularly with reading and writing assistance.
My Story
In my earlier years, I have coached recreational and competitive gymnastics & dance. I am excited to help your children get a head start on their schooling, enjoy developmentally appropriate activities, learn and practice important life virtues and develop a healthy self-efficacy. A healthy self-efficacy is truly the foundation for success in their lives goals and ambitions! I absolutely love seeing a child’s excitement when they have just mastered a new skill and gained a new level of confidence in their abilities!
I incorporate learning, music, and movement as I teach, care for and inspire your little ones. Preschool age children will be learning the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, days of the week, writing their name, phonics, blending and more. We will have story time, arts and craft, movement activities, singing and plenty of playtime! I believe that you will be thrilled with your child’s care and progress here and I look forward to nurturing and caring for your little ones!

I am a professional educator, have taught in special needs classes and in grades 2 & 4. I have an excellent little preschool curriculum that is included in my State certified daycare. I follow a strict wellness policy to protect the wellbeing of families whose children are in my care.
